“Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.” Hebrew 10:23 NLT
It is exactly a year ago today, that I read Hebrew 10:23. I thought Lord, what are you saying? During reflection my mind experienced a bobblehead motion; as I read the passage over and over with memories of 2017 flashing in my mind. The handwritten date on the page startled me and my head literally juddered like a bobblehead. Yes, like the figurine with the disproportionately large head. It was as if my head swiveled back and forth as if on a spring . . . at least that is what it felt like.
The bobblehead motion resembles wavering of one’s faith in regard to trusting God. You might be trusting God for a promotion, health and healing, for a spouse in crisis or the salvation of a love one. Perhaps, you are in a crisis or need to make a major decision. Is your faith wavering in a bobblehead motion? How often does your faith resemble a bobblehead figurine?
In 2018 keep a firm posture in faith. Remember God never fails. Guard your heart with God’s word, which will strengthen your focus. The take home point is for you to allow the Word to prevent a state of doublemindedness. While your eyes remain on the prize, unlike a distracted bobblehead. It is my prayer my dear brothers and sisters, that you stand firm.
Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the will and work of the Lord, because your labor will not be in vain (I Cor. 15:58 NIV). God is at work.
Praised God. So true
